Following the resolve of the Nigeria Labour Congress to embark on a proposed nationwide warning strike, the national leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, the umbrella body of all workers of federal and state judiciaries across the country, has directed its members to join the warning strike.

In a statement released today, Wednesday 26th, 2018, the President of the judicial body, Mr. Marwan Adamu, stated that effective from midnight on Wednesday 26, all courts in the country must remain closed pending a counter instruction from the national secretariat of the union.

The Labour Union’s decision to embark on the strike follows due deliberations on the report of Labour representatives on the Tripartite Committee on a new National Minimum Wage after a 14-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government.

The Labour Union, however, echoed its decision to remain in the strike until further directives are conveyed.
