A friend of a man who survived a herdsmen attack today along Abuja-kaduna road has taken to facebook to recount his terrible ordeal. He shared this on the social platform:
“A friend of mine survived an attack by suspected herdsmen along airport road in Kaduna on Saturday.
He said four cars heading to town from the airport were waylaid by men that jumped out of the bush and started shooting.
He escaped by reversing and was gifted with the bullets that thankfully missed him and his passenger.
The road from the airport in Kaduna is notorious for this type of attack.
Two years ago when I went for the Kaduna Book and Arts festival, we had to use armed conveys to get to town from the airport and back.
Shocking that security forces still don’t see the need to secure a highway that connects the airport to a major Nigerian city, not to mention the fact that the Nigerian Defence Academy and an Air Force base are along that route.
We should do better!!!
